John Terriak John is an Inuk Native from Nain, Northern Labrador. A devoted family man, he is tied to the land for his livelihood. This respect for Nature drew him to carving. His breathtaking carvings are mainly of animals and his culture's relationship to nature. The majority of John's carvings are of soapstone from Okkusisalik Bay, North of Nain. He also works with whale bone, caribou bone, and ivory. John is most renowned for his multi-medium sculptures. John finishes all of his work with his "J.T." and Weasel symbol, indicating the translation of "Terriak" in his Native Innuktituk.
