Barry Pardy.. is a Southern Labrador Metis artist, born in the
60's in Cartwright. What began as a hobby with him when he was young, has now
become a life long passion and pastime .Barry began painting people and
scenes
of his enchanted south coast home; he now carves the local poplar or aspen wood,
his favorite subjects are animals such as husky dogs, wolves, eagles,
puffins and fish. After carving and painting his animate creations, he uses
paints to make life - likenesses of each piece; they are much treasured
collector items. In his other life, Barry is a forest ranger; summers are spent
in Cartwright and winters further inland at Happy Valley- Goose Bay where he now
does most of his carvings.
